School Mission: To maximize the academic potential of every child in a safe and personalized environment. SRMS will prepare and promote students who are high school, college and career ready and prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century’s global society.
LITERACY
Goal: All students will achieve literacy proficiency as indicated by the MCAP assessment.
ACTION STEP(S):
1.
Teachers will identify and implement
appropriate scaffolds for instruction to promote student independence and to
ensure that all students, including students receiving special education
services, can access grade level content.
2.
Instruction will include
authentic application and relevant contexts for learning.
CULTURE:
Ensure that lessons meet the rigor of grade
level standards and examine whether the scaffolds are in place to give every
student access to the rigor and standard.
Provide PD and support around creating authentic
application and relevant context.
MATH
Goal: All students will achieve mathematics proficiency as indicated by the MCAP assessment
ACTION STEPS:

the planning process to engage teachers in coaching discussions that support
these action steps
Promote and support International Baccalaureate
(IB) unit planning as way to ensure that authentic application and relevant
context are built into the foundation of every unit.
SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT
ACTION STEPS:
Utilize
restorative practice and mentoring to give value to student voice and work
proactively to reduce conflict and improve problem solving among our students.
Utilize the attendance works three tier process
to continue to improve attendance. Tier
I – Improve school climate, Tier II -
Personalized approach, Tier III Coordinating interagency response.
CULTURE:
Leadership will encourage educators to examine and interrogate their personal biases to become aware of the ways in which their own cultural experiences influence the conditions and learning opportunities that they create for students
Fostering an environment where student voice is valued through restorative practice and mentoring students. Utilize International Baccalaureate (IB) principles for character development, including school wide infusion and promotion of the IB Learner Profile, the IB community project, restorative practices and community circles.
Overseeing proactive steps to improve attendance with the attendance works three tier approach. Tier I – Improve school climate (Items listed in the previous bullet), Tier II – Personalized approach, family meetings, attendance mentoring, attendance homeroom targeting specific students, Tier III – coordinating interagency responses - Required Parent Conferences, PPW intervention, School Support Team meetings, and/or Project Attend.
