Virtual Orientation - Mr. Thanner

Dear 6th Grade Stemmers Run Families,

Let me be the first to welcome you to our Stemmers Run family.  Despite so much uncertainty around next school year, I am excited to get things started and to welcome your child into our community.  While we know that school will be virtual for at least the first semester, our faculty members have created a series of virtual meetings to be held over the summer in order to support a smooth transition for your child into our school.  In a regular school year, we would be holding informational meetings and building tours to support this transition; in light of current circumstances, however, these transitional activities will be done virtually.  In addition to the calendar of our summer virtual events and instructions for accessing them, we have included in this section of our website information to support your child with their transition to middle school.  We will be updating and adding content throughout the summer, including videos and virtual tours, so please make sure you are checking in as the summer progresses.

As we gain information specific to the start of the school year, I will be sending call-outs and emails to make sure that you stay informed, but in the meantime, I encourage you and your child to attend the virtual orientation events that interest you, explore our website, and ask questions.  If you want more information of the county’s virtual learning plan for the fall, a draft of the plan can be found here: Draft Re-opening Plan.   Please keep in mind, however, that while we do not anticipate too many changes, this plan is still only a draft, so some changes may be forthcoming as it works through the state approval process.  Once again, welcome to the Stemmers Run family, and I look forward to meeting all of you in person, as soon as we are allowed to do so.
