Assessments at SRMS
Assessments in the MYP are criterion based. This means that students’ achievement is measured against criteria which have descriptors for each level of achievement rather than by comparing one student to other students in a class. The criteria provide a transparent system for the students and parents on what students need to do in order to reach a certain level. This system expects students to demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding rather than just recalling knowledge. Each subject group has four objectives (A-D) and several strands (indicators). These can be summarized by the chart below. Click on each link for detailed rubrics. As Stemmers Run, 6th and 7th grade teachers will utilize the Year 1 rubrics while 8th grade teachers will utilize the Year 3 rubrics.
